Windy City acid jazz outfit Liquid state Soul originally comprised saxophonist/musical pic manager Mars Roger Williams, DJ Jesse de la Peña, guitar player Tommy Klein, bassist Ricky Showalter, foretell Ron Haynes, keyboardist Frankie Hill, and drummer Dan Leali; formed in 1993, the radical cursorily emerged as a Windy City club pet thanks to their regular Sun night gigs at the Elbo Room, and presently recorded a self-titled debut LP for their possess Soul What label. A series of senior high school visibility gigs including appearances at Chairperson Broadside Clinton's inaugural parade in Booker T. Washington, D.C., as well as basketball game star Dennis Rodman's natal day party greatly boosted Liquidity Soul's visibility, and in 1996 their album was reissued on the Ark 21 label; moving their regular William Ashley Sunday gigs to Chicago's Double over Door, the group -- directly featuring Thomas Lanier Williams, Showalter, Haynes, Pitcher's mound, and Leali in summation to new recruits including DJ Ajax, boob the Colly MF, guitarist Tommy Sanchez, trombone player Whoremaster Janowiak, percussionist Triton Kail, and singer Simone (the daughter of the great Nina Simone) -- issued their sophomore record book,
Do About Disturbance, in 1998.
